‘My strengths come from the same place as my weaknesses...’
The Times Higher Education Supplement
“I am dyslexic. I am also a writer with a PhD
in English literature. Contrary to popular perception,
these things are not incompatible. People are often
surprised to hear this. Most assume that all dyslexics
are aspiring architects, artists or entrepreneurs, not
writers having to deal with the messy business of words
as the tools of their trade. When I completed my doctorate
in English literature at Oxford University in 2002,
I was the only dyslexic person to have achieved this
as far as I knew. I swung between feeling like a proud
pioneer and an isolated freak.”

Adult Dyslexia Support
I work with dyslexic adults, helping them to find ways
to maximise their strengths to enable them to overcome
their difficulties.
“As a result of my work with Rebecca, I discovered
the best ways to study and write. This has made my working
process less stressful and tiring and more productive
and successful.” Sarah
“Dyslexia tuition with Rebecca has helped me
immensely, from getting my ideas out and planning and
structuring my argument, to grammar and study/reading
strategies.
Her support has enabled me to gain confidence and to
produce work to the best of my ability.” Emma
I also run workshops and give talks about adult dyslexia.

NEVERODDOREVEN
I joined a group of fellow dyslexic adults at The Serpentine
Gallery, London, and, with artist Abigail Reynolds,
we spent several months exploring how we think through
designing various activities.
Out of this process emerged a set of unusual games
called NEVERODDOREVEN.
The games come as a set of cards. There are 9 unique
games. Each game confronts the players with how their
mind works and enables them to explore their own way
of thinking. You can buy this pack through The Serpentine
Gallery.
